Where does IN COMMON ship?

IN COMMON currently ships to all 50 states, Puerto Rico + Canada. You may experience longer shipping times when shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico or Canada. Unfortunately, we do not ship to PO boxes. Shipping rates + fees differ on international shipments to Canada.

Do you offer express shipping?

Yes, we offer express shipping to any of the 48 contiguous states. We cannot rush orders to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or Canada.

Can I change my shipping address after I submit my order?

What is your return policy?

We’re sorry to hear you didn’t love your IN COMMON products! We offer a 60-day return policy. Please email [email protected] with your order number + the products you would like to exchange or return. Please note your shipping charges cannot be refunded. If you wish to return from Canada you are responsible for shipping the product back to our office located in Miami, Florida, USA.

If your order is damaged or lost please email [email protected] + include the order number + details of the issue. Please include photos if possible. Unfortunately, we cannot replace or refund purchases made outside of the incommonbeauty.com website. If you purchased your product from a salon, please contact the salon for its return policy.

How long does the return process take?

Once our customer service team verifies an order has been refunded, it generally takes 5-10 days to appear on your statement.

Are IN COMMON formulas paraben-free?

Yes! Committed to going above + beyond the industry standards, we’ve designed our products to the highest level of performance, efficacy + luxury—we spare no effort to achieve those high levels. We felt a responsibility to create paraben-free formulas in the interest of strong customer demand + our brand ideals.

What does IN COMMON use in place of parabens as a preservative system?

We use a number of different ingredients, many based on food preservatives. Some examples include sorbic acid, potassium sorbate + sodium benzoate.

Do IN COMMON products use alcohol?

In order to maintain a high level of performance, a certain amount of alcohols is necessary in specific formulations. However, we formulate our products with cosmetic-grade alcohols that do not dry out or strip the hair of its natural oils. As a result, you can achieve the style you desire without the negative effects with which alcohols are sometimes associated.

What are sulfates + what kinds do you use in IN COMMON products?

Primarily used in shampoos, sulfates are a class of cosmetic ingredients known as surfactants, which act as cleansers. Some examples of commonly used sulfates include sodium lauryl sulfate + sodium laureth sulfate. Recent concern surrounding the harsh qualities of certain sulfates motivated us to ban sodium lauryl sulfate + ammonium lauryl sulfate from our formulations, both of which can over-cleanse the hair + scalp of its healthy natural oils + lessen the longevity of hair color. Instead, we formulate using sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, cocamidopropl betaine, sodium cocoyl isethionate, + cocamide MEA, which are ultra-mild + highly effective surfactants derived from coconut oil.

Do IN COMMON products use sodium chloride?

No. Sodium Chloride has been shown to break down keratin bonds, which can affect keratin-treated hair. For this reason, we do not include Sodium Chloride in any all IN COMMON hair care products.

Do IN COMMON products contain silicone?

Yes, we strategically utilize high-performance silicones in many of our products to deliver softness, shine + protect against further loss of moisture. The silicones used in IN COMMON products are water-soluble therefore alleviating concerns about buildup or unwanted “weight” on the hair. We never use lower grade silicones, which are not water-soluble + act as “fillers” that weigh down + overload the hair. In addition, many products on the market utilize silicones only to address the cosmetic surface layer needs of the hair, resulting in temporary results. IN COMMON technologies—specifically our C3 Custom Care ComplexTM + Hydra-Protecting Technology—provide a more holistic approach + simultaneously repair + hydrate hair internally while also sealing + protecting the outer cuticle layer.

Are IN COMMON products color-safe?

Yes. All of our products, including shampoo, are safe for color-treated hair. This means that they are gentle, non-stripping + help prevent color fade.

Are IN COMMON products safe for extensions?

Yes. All of our products are safe for every type of hair extension

Do IN COMMON products offer heat/thermal protection?

Yes, all IN COMMON products offer heat/thermal protection.

Do IN COMMON products offer UV protection?

Yes! The ozone naturally filters out some UVB light, but does very little to protect against UVA light. Excessive sun exposure can wreak havoc on the hair, leading to color loss (from UVA rays) + dehydration or damage to the hair shaft itself through loss of moisture + protein (from UVB rays). All IN COMMON products contain ingredients that offer UV protection by filtering both UVA + UVB rays.

Do IN COMMON products contain dyes or colorants?

No.

Does IN COMMON test on animals?

No. IN COMMON has a strong commitment to animal welfare + does not directly or indirectly perform animal testing for any of our products. To the best of our knowledge, none of our raw material suppliers test the ingredients used in our products on animals.

Are IN COMMON products vegetarian?

Yes.

Are IN COMMON products vegan?

IN COMMON products utilize ethically sourced silk amino acids derived from the empty cocoon of the silkworm, resulting in the line being considered only vegetarian, not vegan.

As technology evolves and we find vegan alternatives to silk amino acids that provide the high performance expected from IN COMMON products, we look forward to reformulating to meet vegan standards.

Are IN COMMON products 100% natural?

IN COMMON uses only the finest ingredients in our products, many of which are natural ingredients. In the pursuit to provide uncompromised performance, many of our ingredients utilize the most effective technology + are specially formulated and, therefore, synthetically derived.
